Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.41%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials , Public Utilities and Real Estate sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were BRF SA (BVMF: BRFS3 ), which rose 4.67% or 0.97 points to trade at 21.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) added 4.46% or 1.04 points to end at 24.36 and Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF: RADL3 ) was up 3.64% or 0.51 points to 14.51 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF: CSAN3 ), which fell 4.67% or 0.34 points to trade at 6.94 at the close. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ) declined 4.24% or 0.19 points to end at 4.29 and Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF: RAIZ4 ) was down 4.07% or 0.07 points to 1.65.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 525 to 411 and 71 ended unchanged.

Shares in Raizen SA Preferred (BVMF: RAIZ4 ) fell to all time lows; falling 4.07% or 0.07 to 1.65.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.61% to 26.03 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.06% or 1.95 to $3,387.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 8.91% or 6.58 to hit $67.26 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract rose 3.03% or 9.55 to trade at $324.60 .

USD/BRL was down 0.30% to 5.50, while EUR/BRL rose 0.20% to 6.37.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 97.96.
