Tesla China sales rise slightly in June, ending 8-month decline

Investing.com -- Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA )’s China-made electric vehicle sales increased 0.8% in June compared to the same month last year, reaching 71,599 units and ending an eight-month streak of declining sales.

According to data released by the China Passenger Car Association on Wednesday, deliveries of Model 3 and Model Y vehicles manufactured at Tesla’s Shanghai factory rose 16.1% from May. These figures include both vehicles sold in China and those exported to European and other markets.

The modest year-over-year growth comes as Tesla faces mounting competition from Chinese rivals. BYD (SZ: 002594 ), Tesla’s largest competitor in China, reported a more substantial 11% year-on-year increase in global car sales for June, with deliveries reaching 377,628 units.
