Sweden stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Stockholm 30 up 1.26%

Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 1.26% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were NIBE Industrier AB ser. B (ST: NIBEb ), which rose 6.85% or 2.80 points to trade at 43.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Boliden AB (ST: BOL ) added 5.28% or 15.70 points to end at 313.20 and Sandvik AB (ST: SAND ) was up 3.05% or 6.60 points to 223.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Tele2 AB (ST: TEL2b ), which fell 1.36% or 1.90 points to trade at 137.60 at the close. SAAB AB ser. B (ST: SAABb ) declined 0.70% or 3.50 points to end at 488.20 and Lifco publ AB (ST: LIFCOb ) was down 0.42% or 1.60 points to 383.40.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 458 to 299 and 73 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.63% or 1.07 to $66.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.68% or 1.13 to hit $68.24 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 2.47 to trade at $3,352.27 a troy ounce.

EUR/SEK was up 0.65% to 11.25, while USD/SEK rose 0.79% to 9.55.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.54.
