Finland stocks higher at close of trade; OMX Helsinki 25 up 0.82%

Investing.com – Finland stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Consumer Services and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 gained 0.82% to hit a new 3-months high.

The best performers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE: UPM ), which rose 5.29% or 1.22 points to trade at 24.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Stora Enso Oyj R (HE: STERV ) added 4.79% or 0.44 points to end at 9.58 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE: OUT1V ) was up 4.20% or 0.14 points to 3.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orion Oyj B (HE: ORNBV ), which fell 2.05% or 1.30 points to trade at 62.20 at the close. Kesko Oyj (HE: KESKOB ) declined 0.95% or 0.20 points to end at 20.92 and KONE Oyj (HE: KNEBV ) was down 0.68% or 0.38 points to 55.48.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Helsinki Stock Exchange by 101 to 69 and 16 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for September delivery was up 1.65% or 1.11 to $68.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.62% or 1.06 to hit $66.51 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.06% or 2.12 to trade at $3,351.92 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP rose 0.77% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 96.54.
