France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.44%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare , Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.44% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 1.38%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ), which rose 5.64% or 13.50 points to trade at 252.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) added 4.02% or 2.01 points to end at 52.00 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA: BNPP ) was up 3.22% or 2.46 points to 78.87 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ), which fell 2.27% or 0.63 points to trade at 27.09 at the close. Publicis Groupe SA (EPA: PUBP ) declined 1.83% or 1.66 points to end at 88.84 and Bureau Veritas SA (EPA: BVI ) was down 0.43% or 0.12 points to 27.90.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Opmobility SE (EPA: OPM ) which rose 7.65% to 12.25, EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA: ESLX ) which was up 5.64% to settle at 252.90 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) which gained 4.02% to close at 52.00.
The worst performers were FDJ United (EPA: FDJU ) which was down 4.60% to 30.26 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which lost 3.93% to settle at 28.50 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) which was down 2.27% to 27.09 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 293 to 187 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.02% or 2.01 to 52.00. Shares in Opmobility SE (EPA: OPM ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.65% or 0.87 to 12.25. Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.02% or 2.01 to 52.00.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.20 to $3,316.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.37% or 0.25 to hit $68.58 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.20 to trade at $70.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 97.26.
