France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.39%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Technology and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.39%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Air Liquide SA (EPA: AIRP ), which rose 3.25% or 5.62 points to trade at 178.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Teleperformance SE (EPA: TEPRF ) added 2.80% or 2.75 points to end at 100.95 and Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ) was up 2.56% or 4.10 points to 164.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Airbus Group SE (EPA: AIR ), which fell 3.08% or 5.08 points to trade at 160.00 at the close. Safran SA (EPA: SAF ) declined 1.49% or 3.70 points to end at 244.20 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA: EUFI ) was down 1.29% or 0.64 points to 48.80.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA: GTT ) which rose 15.92% to 155.10, Alten SA (EPA: LTEN ) which was up 10.40% to settle at 97.15 and Lectra SA (EPA: LECS ) which gained 4.50% to close at 29.00.

The worst performers were Solutions 30 SE (EPA: S30 ) which was down 6.64% to 1.35 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which unchanged 5.88% to settle at 0.00 and Eramet SA (EPA: ERMT ) which was down 4.31% to 54.40 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 286 to 218 and 84 ended unchanged.

Shares in Air Liquide SA (EPA: AIRP ) rose to all time highs; up 3.25% or 5.62 to 178.40. Shares in Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA: GTT ) rose to all time highs; up 15.92% or 21.30 to 155.10.

The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.15% or 4.49 to $2,951.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.99% or 1.44 to hit $71.04 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.87% or 1.43 to trade at $75.05 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 106.56.
