Spain stocks higher at close of trade; IBEX 35 up 0.29%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services , Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.29%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Grifols SA (BME: GRLS ), which rose 3.20% or 0.26 points to trade at 8.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (BME: AMA ) added 1.60% or 1.14 points to end at 72.50 and International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (BME: ICAG ) was up 1.30% or 0.04 points to 3.12 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Repsol (BME: REP ), which fell 2.71% or 0.34 points to trade at 12.02 at the close. Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME: ROVI ) declined 1.94% or 1.00 points to end at 50.45 and Acerinox (BME: ACX ) was down 1.26% or 0.14 points to 10.96.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 110 to 89 and 11 ended unchanged.

Shares in Laboratorios Farmaceuticos ROVI (BME: ROVI ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.94% or 1.00 to 50.45.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.76% or 23.99 to $3,169.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.39% or 0.28 to hit $71.48 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.19 to trade at $74.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.44% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 103.43.
