Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.19%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI declined 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ), which rose 5.68% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.63 at the close. Meanwhile, The Navigator Company SA (ELI: NVGR ) added 1.15% or 0.04 points to end at 3.51 and Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) was up 0.96% or 0.04 points to 4.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which fell 2.04% or 0.19 points to trade at 9.14 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ) declined 1.80% or 0.12 points to end at 6.54 and Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) was down 1.29% or 0.19 points to 14.21.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 16 to 12 and 3 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 5.68% or 0.03 to 0.63. Shares in Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 0.96% or 0.04 to 4.20.

Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.59% or 0.39 to $66.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.52% or 0.33 to hit $63.34 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.89% or 61.25 to trade at $3,186.55 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 100.60.
