Germany stocks lower at close of trade; DAX down 0.57%

Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Construction , Transportation & Logistics and Retail sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.57%, while the MDAX index lost 0.47%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.20%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ), which rose 3.33% or 56.50 points to trade at 1,755.00 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) added 1.28% or 0.20 points to end at 15.87 and Qiagen NV (ETR: QIA ) was up 0.62% or 0.26 points to 41.13 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens AG Class N (ETR: SIEGn ), which fell 2.39% or 5.30 points to trade at 216.00 at the close. Brenntag AG (ETR: BNRGn ) declined 2.07% or 1.18 points to end at 55.78 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR: DHLn ) was down 1.67% or 0.66 points to 38.94.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR: BOSSn ) which rose 3.99% to 41.69, IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which was up 3.49% to settle at 38.60 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which gained 3.17% to close at 97.55.

The worst performers were DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA (ETR: DWSG ) which was down 4.47% to 47.06 in late trade, GEA Group AG (ETR: G1AG ) which lost 3.05% to settle at 57.30 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR: DHER ) which was down 2.92% to 22.98 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which rose 3.49% to 38.60, Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which was up 3.17% to settle at 97.55 and United Internet AG NA (ETR: UTDI ) which gained 1.94% to close at 24.20.

The worst performers were Cancom SE O.N. (ETR: COKG ) which was down 3.30% to 26.40 in late trade, Nagarro SE (ETR: NA9n ) which lost 2.41% to settle at 58.60 and Siltronic AG (ETR: WAFGn ) which was down 2.01% to 39.94 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 379 to 201 and 36 ended unchanged.

Shares in E.ON SE (ETR: EONGn ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.28% or 0.20 to 15.87.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.33% to 18.53.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.01% or 0.50 to $3,343.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.88% or 0.59 to hit $66.41 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.83% or 0.57 to trade at $68.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 96.63.
