Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.22%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Financials , Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS: INGA ), which rose 2.70% or 0.52 points to trade at 19.80 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) added 2.19% or 0.53 points to end at 24.72 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) was up 1.74% or 0.49 points to 28.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Randstad NV (AS: RAND ), which fell 0.96% or 0.40 points to trade at 41.38 at the close. Heineken (AS: HEIN ) declined 0.87% or 0.66 points to end at 75.04 and Unilever PLC (AS: ULVR ) was down 0.73% or 0.38 points to 51.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 50 to 46 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS: INGA ) rose to 5-year highs; up 2.70% or 0.52 to 19.80. Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 2.19% or 0.53 to 24.72.
The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.31% or 0.21 to $68.54 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $70.31 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.50 to trade at $3,317.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 97.25.
