Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.11%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon Ltd (AS: AEGN ), which rose 1.67% or 0.10 points to trade at 6.09 at the close. Meanwhile, Koninklijke KPN NV (AS: KPN ) added 1.09% or 0.04 points to end at 4.10 and Unilever PLC (AS: ULVR ) was up 1.00% or 0.52 points to 52.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ), which fell 1.97% or 2.50 points to trade at 124.65 at the close. ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) declined 1.91% or 0.47 points to end at 24.14 and Exor NV (AS: EXOR ) was down 1.73% or 1.55 points to 88.15.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 50 to 44 and 9 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.67% or 1.14 to $67.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.24% or 0.87 to hit $69.49 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.33% or 11.00 to trade at $3,353.00 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 97.78.
